It occurred to me when doing some work for a French book yesterday that I lied extensively when I had my Leaving Cert oral exams.
I figure everyone does it on the small scale. The examiner asks what you ate for breakfast that morning and you rattle off your food vocabulary list which bears no relation [...]

That’s a lovely picture of the girls there, fair play to them. What’s with the caption? They seem “well pleased” with their results? Since when do we say “well pleased” in the Irish Times?
